Dear moms, want-to-be moms or just overall, fed up women who just can’t seem to get it right.
Welcome to my life 🙂
And that’s no joke – well kinda.
My name is Samantha Montpetit-Huynh and I am the mom of two beautiful girls, owner of a dog (my third child) and happily married for 17+ years and although it may look like I often have it “together”, I’m here to say the grass ALWAYS looks greener on the other side.
Motherhood is tough and although the most rewarding experience for many, it can often feel very isolating. I was a fitness professional and was shocked when my body didn’t “bounce back” like I was told it would. I felt weak, disconnected and as if my body had let me down – which clearly isn’t true because I had just birthed my first child.
I started in the fitness field long ago and joined my first gym at the young age of 18 and never looked back and after I became a personal trainer, I found my calling to help mothers after I became one.
And this is how my journey began; taking courses, doing research and learning that what one expects isn’t necessarily what one gets when they become a mom, so I was going to find answers dammit – and I did.
With over 15 years of experience working with pregnant, new moms and veterans, like me, it is clear that there is a significant lack of education and support when it comes to motherhood and the demands that we not only put on ourselves but are also implied everywhere we look.
Diastasis Rectus Abdominis (DRA) is real but in no way a life sentence and guess what, leaking urine is common but it is NOT normal. There are solutions and exercises that can actually give you your life back. No need to suffer in silence anymore. There is help.
My goals are the same for my clients as they are with me; to feel confident in your abilities, feel strong and functional in your every day and learn to love that body that was awesome enough to create, carry and birth human beings.
I look forward to getting you where you want to be and will be your cheerleader every step of the way.
Each pregnancy took its toll on my body. By the end of my third pregnancy, I didn’t know if I’d ever be fit again. Sam started me on a routine unfamiliar to me, teaching me techniques and skills to not only set me on a path to get my body back, but to be strong, healthy and ‘leak-proof’.
